ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University women's basketball team closed the season falling 72-62 to the Badger of Spring Hill College on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea Hill led the Golden Rams with contributing 13 points and three rebounds.
Bri'elle Johnson finished with contributing 12 points. Rounding out the Golden Rams double-digit scoring was
Edith Gordon with 10 points.
Albany State University started the game strong with taking a 18-13 lead to close out the first quarter. The Golden Rams used that same momentum with outscoring the Badgers of Spring Hill College to take a 32-26 lead at the half. The Badgers answered in the third quarter securing the lead with adding 28 points in the third quarter to edge the Golden Rams 54-46. The Badgers used the same momentum in the fourth quarter to adding 18 points to take the 72-62 victory.
On the afternoon, the Golden Rams shot 33-percent and grabbed 15 offensive boards of its 21 team total. The Golden Rams forced 14 Badger turnovers. The Golden Rams shot 72.2% (13-18) from the free throw line.
