ALBANY, Ga. - The Albany State baseball team completed a sweep of Lincoln University (Pa.) with a 25-8-win Thursday night.
RIGHT OFF THE BAT
After the Lions added one run in the first inning, the Golden Rams had three runs off four hits for their first at bat of the day. The Golden Rams had three home runs in the contest with
Lachlan Ross,
Tate Thompson and Will Berry hitting the ball out the park. ASU finished the contest with 18 hits.
GOLDEN RAMS SEAL THE DEAL
At the end of four innings Albany State led 4-2. Will Berry had a three run homer in the inning for his first of the season. The Lions put another two runs on the board in the top of the fifth to trail 7-4 going into the bottom of the inning. The Golden Rams had a big sixth inning, scoring seven runs off of four hits.
Gavin Sloan and
Lachlan Ross each had a double in the sixth inning.
Tate Thompson had a two run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Lachlan Ross had a four run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to reach 25 runs for Albany State. Lincoln would score a two runs in the fifth and four in the eighth as the Golden Rams won 25-8.
HOT BATS
Three different Golden Rams had a home run on the day, including Ross, Thompson and Berry. Will Berry hit three for three with five runs scored.
Nate Lloyd hit two for three while Sloan went two for five with two runs scored.
Travis Ray Jr. went two for five, while
Jared Spinner hitting one for two.
GOLDEN RAMS PITCHING
Malik Barrington pitched five innings for Albany State to pick up the win and improve to 1-1 on the season. He had 10 strike outs and only one walk.
Brock Rountree pitched two innings.
Tyler Bullock finished the game for the Golden Rams, pitching one inning. Albany State pitchers had 15 strike outs and two walks.

The Golden Rams will host the Lions of Lincoln University in doubleheader action on Friday, February 26th. First pitch will be at 12:00 p.m.
