ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University men's basketball team fought back from a 59-51 deficit late in regulation to force overtime Tuesday against Tuskegee University, but the Golden Tigers were able to make the late plays in the extra session and took a 68-65 decision at ASU West Campus Arena.
The loss was Albany State's third in a row, and this is the first time this season that the Golden Rams played in overtime. The Golden Rams are now 1-5 overall. Tuskegee University improved to 4-4.

How It Happened
Malik Parker secured a three-pointers in the first three minutes while
Titus Burns added a layup and one from the free throw line to tie the game seven all. Both teams would battle for the lead but the Golden Tigers was able to take a 24-14 lead at the half. Albany State immediately ripped off an 15-0 run to take a 29-24 lead to open the second half, and then a Golden Rams basket at the 12:54 mark from
Titus Burns put ASU ahead at 37-26.
Albany State continued to grow its lead to 10; bringing the score to 49-39 with 5:38 left. Tuskegee continued to fight with securing a three-pointer by Steve Dulley to cut ASU's lead 53-50 with 3:16 left. After adding two from the free throw line the Golden Rams edged the Golden Tigers 56-52.
A Golden Tigers free throw leveled the score, and neither team could convert on their final possessions, forcing an extra five minutes.
Tuskegee snatched the lead at 59-57 after a pair of free throws with 4:19 left, but Albany State answered with a pair at the line to bring the score 59 all. Both teams would battle for the lead but the Golden Tigers was able to add two from the free throw line to secure the 68-65 victory.
