Parker and Burns Lead Golden Rams to 85-62 Win Over Tuskegee

ALBANY, Ga. – Four Golden Rams walked off the court tonight with double-digit scores, as they led the Albany State men's basketball team to an 85-62 victory over Tuskegee University.

Malik Parker, who scored a career high 24 points and two rebounds. Titus Burns (14), Joshua Jerome (13), and Rodney Hunter (13), joined Parker as those with double-digit scores.

After the teams traded buckets to open the contest, the Golden Rams embarked on a 12-8 lead with 14:46 left in the opening half. Tuskegee pulled to within three (32-29) on a free throw from Reco Hallmon. Golden Rams grew its lead adding two from the free throw line to take a 43-30 lead with 00:30 seconds left in the half. Tuskegee closed out the scoring with adding a three pointers with fourteen seconds left in the half sent the Golden Tigers into the locker room with a 10-point deficit, 43-33.

The Golden Rams led by as many as 27 in the second half, with Yves Fleuranvil knocked down a layup with 1:46 remaining in regulation to make the score 83-56. The Golden Tigers tried to claw back but wasn't enough as the Golden Rams cruised to a 85-62 victory.  

Albany State will return to action on Sunday, February 28th as they travel to Columbia, South Carolina for a matchup against the Tigers of Benedict College. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
