COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sophomore Kierra York scored 15 points but it was not enough as the Albany State women's basketball team suffered a 79-49 loss on Monday evening.

Bri'elle Johnson rounded out the Golden Rams double-digit scoring, now 0-8, with 11 points. 

Kyla Reid led the Lady Yellow Jackets of Allen University, now 3-8, with 19 points. Aniya Keeling added 11 points, while Kelsey Felks scored 10 points.

Allen University had a 40-22 lead at the half. The Golden Rams added 11 points in the third quarter to cut AU's lead 64-33. The Lady Yellow Jackets then added 15 points in the final quarter of the contest to take the 79-49 victory. The Golden Rams scored 11 points off of turnovers. Albany State collected 34 rebounds and secured eight second chance points.  


Albany State will return to action on Friday, February 26th as they host the Lady Tigers of Benedict College. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
