The Albany State Golden Rams earned a bid to the 2021 NCAA Division II Football Playoff as announced by the selection committee on Sunday, November 14.
Albany State (10-1) will be the #4 seed in the Super Region 2 bracket and will play #5 seed West Georgia (8-2) at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 20 in Albany, Georgia.  The winner of the Albany State and West Georgia game will face #1 seed Valdosta State on Saturday, November 27, in Valdosta, Georgia.

Albany State defeated Miles College 31-0 in the SIAC Championship Game on Saturday, November 13.  The Golden Rams defense is giving up an astonishing 4.7 points per game.  West Georgia defeated Delta State 44-7 on last Saturday.  Albany State defeated West Georgia 26-14 in Carrollton, Georgia the last time the teams played, which was on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

Albany State will be making its 14^th appearance in the Division II playoffs.  However, this will be the Golden Rams first appearance in the Division II football playoff since losing to North Greenville University in 2011.
