ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Albany State University men's basketball team suffered a tough 69-56 loss to the Golden Bears of Miles College in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship game.
 
The Golden Rams started the game with an 8-0 run over the Golden Bears of Miles College in the first five minutes of play. The Golden Bears added a 3-pointer to put points on the board to cut ASU's lead 8-3 with 14:59 left in the half. Albany State then extended its lead 22-7 on a 3-pointer by Kamil Brown with 8:25 left in the first half. The Golden Rams then extended its lead 29-15 with 5:17 left. Miles College continued to fight closing out the half on 13-1 run but trailed the Golden Rams 30-26 at the half.
 
Napoleon Harris started the scoring in the second half for the Golden Rams with a jumper to extend the lead 32-26 with 19:32 left in the contest. The Golden Bears answered tying the game 32-all on a jumper by Avery Brown with 17:21 on the clock. The tied for the second time 33-all when Golden Bears collected one from the free throw line. The Golden Rams answered with securing the lead with a tip-in by Randy McClure with 15:14 left in the game. Miles answered with tying the game for the third time 35-all on a jumper by Brown. With 14:04 left in the contest the Golden Bears took a short 36-35 lead with adding one from the free throw line. Albany State answered with collecting a jumper by Kamil Brown to take a 37-36 lead with 13:47 left in the half. The Golden Bears then secured a 38-37 lead with adding two from the free throw line. Miles then extended its lead 40-37 on a layup by Frank Royles with 12:01 left in the clock. Juwan High answered for the Golden Rams with adding a jumper to put ASU within one of the Golden Bears, 40-39. ASU then took a 41-40 lead on a jumper by Napoleon Harris.
 
The Golden Bears collected four points to edge the Golden Rams 45-41 with 8:25 left in the game. Randy McClure when secured a tip-in for the Golden Rams to cut MC's lead 47-44 with 7:27 left on the clock. Miles answered with a layup to extend the lead 49-44. Kamil Brown added two from the free throw line for the Golden Rams to bring the score 49-46 with 6:32 left in the contest. Umar Frost then secured a layup to advance the Golden Bears lead 51-46. A jumper by Napoleon Harris cut MC's lead 55-50 with 4:21 left on the game clock. Kamil Brown then adds two from the free throw line to cut the score 57-52 with 3:30 left. Miles then secures a tip-in to take a 59-52 lead with 2:16 on the game clock. The Golden Bears then added two from the free throw line to take a 61-52 advantage. Harris answers with adding two from the free throw line to bring the score 61-54. Miles when collects two form the free throw line to edge the score 63-54 with 1:17 left in the game. McClure then added a basket to close out the scoring for the Golden Rams with Miles College taking a 69-56 victory.
