ALBANY, Ga. – After being postponed two days due to rain, the Albany State University baseball team secured a 11-4 victory over the Night hawks of Thomas University Thursday afternoon.
With the victory the Golden Rams improve to (7-7) on the season while the Night Hawks fall to 7-12.
Albany State University got on the board first will adding a run in the bottom of the second inning Karn grounded out to the short stop to score
Nate Lloyd to give them a 1-0 lead. The Night hawks answered with plating a run in the top of the third to make the score one all. The Golden Rams answered with adding a run in the bottom of the inning to take a 2-1 lead. ASU then added another run in the bottom of the third inning to advance its lead 3-1. Thomas University secured three runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 4-3 lead over the Golden Rams.
The Golden Rams then added another run in the bottom of the tie the games at four all. The Golden Rams would hold the Night hawks scoreless for the remainder of the contest. The Golden Rams then plated seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure the victory.
Blake Howell started things off on the mound for the Golden Rams pitching five innings while only allowing seven hits, four runs, three walks and seven strikeouts in the 24 batters faced.
Michael Reddick closed things out for ASU only allowing no hits and two strikeouts.
Gavin Sloan led the Golden Rams going 3-for-3 at the plate while recording three RBI's.
