Box Score 4 ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University women's volleyball team wrapped up the 2019 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Crossover Tournament with a 5-2 overall record from teams faced. The Golden Rams closed out with a 3-0 victory over Tuskegee University on Saturday morning.
Kaelyn Jordan led Albany State Miles (10-9, 7-2 SIAC) in kills (10) and Tuskegee (5-11, 5-7) helped by committing 24 attack errors, 18 of them coming in the final two sets. The Golden Rams powered to a 25-20 first set victory.
Albany State took a 12-6 lead in Set 2 and continued to hold the lead as the Tuskegee errors continued to mount. Lane served with Albany State leading 20-13 and six errors by the Golden Tigers helped the Golden Rams take the 25-14 victory.
The Golden Rams continued the same momentum to take the third set. The Golden Rams to early 8-6 on a kill by
Kaelyn Jordan. The Golden Tigers continued to fight back. The two continued to trade points with the game seeing the score tie once at 16 all. A service ace by
Aiyanna Jones gave the Golden Rams a 24-21 advantage. Serving for the set, Albany State could not close the door. Two straight kills - the last two by Donovan Wingfield and Erin Jackson put Tuskegee within one. A kill by
Kamryn Lane secure the victory for ASU 25-23.
The Golden Rams will return to action on October 1
st as they travel to Savannah, Georgia for a conference matchup against Savannah State University. First service is set for 6:00 p.m.
