ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University baseball team scored nine runs on nine hits, getting a base knock from eight Golden Rams, to race to a 9-3 victory over the Golden Bears of Miles College Sunday afternoon to advance to the 2019 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Championship Game. The Golden Rams will face the Badgers of Spring Hill College with first pitch slated for 2 p.m. at Golden Rams Field.
After falling behind by two runs after the first two innings of play, the Golden Rams (32-19) add three runs in the top of the third and fifth innings to take a 3-2 lead. The Golden Bears quickly answered in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie to the game 3 all. From there, Albany State plated runs in two separate innings to keep the home team at bay.
Ernis Reyes led Golden Rams in the contest, going 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs.

Johnathan Cirullo all recorded hits for Albany State.
Travis Ray Jr. finished the contest with two home runs.
Tyler Berry (2-1) recorded the win for the Golden Rams who pitched five innings and allowed one run on two hits with one walk and one strikeout.
Tre Turner started the ASU pitching two innings as he allowed just two runs on two hits with two walks.
Cody Chapman and
Chasen Roulhac finished the final 2.0 innings of the game allowing just two hits combined with one strikeout.
Miles College starter Matthew White (1-3) wound up with the loss as only four of the eight runs he gave up in the first six innings of the game. Jacob Bisharat led the Golden Bears at the plate going 2-for-3with an RBI and run scored, while Roderick Ransom drove in one on just two hits.
After Miles was able to pull off two runs in the first three innings of the game, Albany State took to the plate in the top of the third to add a run to cut MC's lead 2-1. The Golden Rams then added two runs in the top of the fifth inning to edge Miles 3-2. The Golden Bears answered its next chance at bat will adding one run to tie the game 3 all.
In the sixth
Travis Ray Jr. secured is first home run of the contest to push the Golden Rams lead to 4-3.
In the ninth, Ray collected his second home run of the contest to open the final offensive inning for the Golden Rams. Ernis Reyes doubled down the left field line to score two.
Johnathan Cirullo scored on a wild pitch. After that
Avery Roth reached on a fielder's choice with Reyes coming across home plate for the final run of the game to make the score 9-3.
With the victory Albany State University will advance to play for the 2019 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Game where they will face the Badgers of Spring Hill College with first pitch slated for 2 p.m.
