ALBANY, Ga. – Albany State University powered pass Morehouse College 18-2 in its opening round of the 2019 SIAC Baseball Championship on Thursday afternoon at Golden Rams Field.
Albany State used a home field advantage with adding 15 hits to take a 18-2 victory.
With the victory Albany State improves to 30-18. Morehouse falls to 10-27 overall.
Albany State jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Kevin Walker singled to right field to plate Reyes recording an RBI. The Golden Rams then added nine runs in the next two innings to take a 10-0 lead. Morehouse answered in the top of the fourth will plating two runs to cut ASU's lead 10-2. ASU answered in the bottom of the fourth with securing two runs with Kelvin Bryant II singled to bring McCray and
Ryan McClendon across the plate to advance the lead 12-2. In the bottom of the fifth inning the Golden Rams collected four runs to grow its lead to 16-2.
Ernis Reyes flied out down the right field line to score

Chasen Roulhac doubled to the right center recording 2 RBIs. The Golden Rams added its runs of the contest in the sixth inning on an error and
Quantico Dodson-Williams grounding out to the short stop.
Morehouse managed just five hits in the game. Albany State finished the contest with 15 hits.
The Golden Rams will face the Thorobreds of Kentucky State University in the next round on Friday, May 3
rd. First pitched is slated for 10 a.m. at Golden Rams Field on Albany State University West Campus.
