ALBANY, Ga.- Albany State University pounded three home runs and 26 hits in a doubleheader sweep over Paine College to take the weekend series victory at Golden Rams Field.

Albany State hit two home runs in the first game to take a 15-1 victory. The Golden Rams had 10 hits and one addition home run in the second game for a 12-0 victory.

With the victories Albany State improves to 25-17 and 17-1 in the SIAC play. Paine falls to 10-27-1 overall and 3-15 in the SIAC.

Kyle Walker secured a home run to bring
Kevin Bryant II across home plate recording an RBI. In the bottom of the fifth inning the Golden Rams added five runs to take a 6-1 lead. Paine answered in the fifth inning adding its only point of the contest. Albany State then added nine more runs in the sixth inning to take the 15-1 victory.Â

Bring the same momentum into the second game the Golden Rams plated six runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-0 lead. Impressive work by ASU held the Lions scoreless the entire contest. Albany State added its final six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to cruise to a 12-0 victory.

Paine managed just four hits in the second game. Albany State finished the contest with 10 hits.
