Albany State University Cheerleaders Participated in National Breakfast Week

ALBANY, Ga. (March 8,2019)– The Albany State University cheerleading team participated in National Breakfast Week, sponsored by the School Nutrition Association (SNA). The cheerleading team visited West Town Elementary.

Every year, SNA sponsors National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) during the first full week in March. The purpose of the week is to help find resources while highlighting the importance of school breakfast.

Being invited to National Breakfast Week to promote healthy eating choices not only made an impact in the kids' lives, but us as young adults as well. These kids are the future and we have to show them what it looks like to be a good leader and how to make the right choices in life.

It was nothing but a pleasure being able to participate in the healthy eating activities for the kids. The cheerleading team was able to convince the kids that eating healthy is a great choice, but we also showed school spirit so maybe one day they will attend not just Albany State but any college and be able to give back.
