ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University women's tennis team secured a 5-2 victory over Fort Valley State University this afternoon.
 
Ana Maria Forero and Jordan Foston, paired together in doubles registered the straight win. Forero and Jordan defeated Brishon Bridges and Imani Wainwright, 6-0.
 
Jenna Wade and Lindsay Ashford made quick work of Fort Valley State's Rita Davis and Nola Carter with a 6-0 victory to clinch the doubles point.
 
In singles, Jenna Wade gave Albany State a 2-0 lead at the No.  6 singles spot with a quick 6-1, 6-0 victory over Nola Carter.
 
At the No. 1 singles spot, despite a great performance Latoya Boyd fell to Tynricia Smith, 6-3, 6-2, 10-8.
 
Ana Maria Forero clinched the match for the Golden Rams at No. 3 over Brishon Bridges, 6-3, 6-4.
 
After the Golden Rams clinched the match, Jordan Foston also registered a singles win, battling to a 6-1, 6-2 win over Wainwright at the No. 4 spot.
 
At the No. 5 singles spot, Lindsay Ashford collected the victory over Rita Davis, 6-2, 6-1.  
 
Up Next: The Golden Rams return to action on Tuesday, April 9th at 4 p.m. as they host Wesleyan College.
