Golden Rams Swept Wesleyan College, 8-1

ALBANY, Ga. (March 2, 2019) - The Albany State University women's tennis team picked up their fourth win of the 2019 season with a 8-1 victory over Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon. 

Albany State swept the Lady Wolves in doubles and singles competition, including victories in doubles No. 1-3 to go ahead 3-0 early.

                                                                                                                            
Freshman Ana Maria Farero (Bogota, Columbia) won a 6-2, 6-3 decision at No. 1 singles for the Golden Rams, while junior Jordan Foston (Atlanta, Georgia) was a 7-5, 3-6, 10-2 victor at No. 3 singles. Junior Alani Gauthier (Marietta, Georgia) topped her opponent, 6-2, 7-6 at No. 4 singles while Freshman Keyera McDowell (Savannah, Georgia) picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles. Jenna Wade was the winner at No. 6 singles.


Albany State will return to action as they host Huntingdon College on Friday, March 8th. The match will be played at the tennis courts on Albany State University West Campus.
