ALBANY, Ga. (March 1, 2019) – Albany State University took advantage of a pair of big innings to defeat Saint Anselm, 9-4, Friday at Golden Rams Field.
The Golden Rams used a three-run third inning and a four-run seventh to improve their record to 5-10. Saint Anselm College is 0-3.
Saint Anselm jumped to a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning when
Larranaga singled to left field to bring two across home plate.
ASU took advantage of two hits, a pair of baulks and a walk to score three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-3 lead.
The Golden Rams continued to add points to the scoreboard in the remaining innings to take a 9-4 victory.

Roman Oliu (2-1) picked up the pitching win, allowing four hits and four earned runs while striking out five and walking three over six innings. Saint Anselm's Hunter was charged with the loss after allowing one run on a hit and walking three over one innings pitched.
Kyle Walker led the hitting charge for the Golden Rams with three hits.
Kevin Bryant II and Quan Dodson-Williams both contributed two hits each.
The Golden Rams will return to action as they host Saint Anselm in doubleheader action on Saturday. March 2
