ALBANY, Ga. | Albany State played the final game of a four game homestand Monday night when they hosted the Panthers of Clark Atlanta.
After building a 29-25 halftime lead, Clark Atlanta pushed the advantage to seven just two minutes into the second half.Â
Albany State proceeded to go on a 10-2 run to take a one point lead highlighted by a driving layup from Randy McClure.
CAU's Jalen Mitchell nailed a jumper the next trip down to give the Panthers the lead back, but McClure answered with a three to give ASU the lead that they would never surrender.Â
McClure finished with 20 points for Albany State (10-14, 9-5). Tyrell Williams added 12 points and Mario Young had 11 points.
Napoleon Harris had a game-high 14 rebounds.
Shelvick Henry led Clark Atlanta (11-10, 8-6) with 21 points.Â
ASU will travel for the first time in two weeks on Saturday, February 9th, when they head to Columbia, South Carolina for a showdown with Benedict College. Tip off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
