AUGUSTA, Ga. | Albany State battled Paine on Monday night in an attempt to further stronghold second place in the SIAC East Division.
It was a total team effort in the 67-59 victory as 14 players logged minutes and 11 Golden Rams scored points.
ASU dominated down low, outscoring the hosts 38-24 in the paint and doubling up the Lions in second chance points (20-10).
It was perhaps the bench that was the biggest difference. The Albany State reserves netted 40 points to Paine's 18.
Uchemdirim Ibebunjo led Albany State (7-17, 6-7) with 12 points followed by Breanna Wilson who scored 10 points.
Keondra Archie had a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds for Paine (2-20, 2-12).
The Golden Rams will host Senior Night on Saturday, February 16th, as they take on Fort Valley State University. Tip off is set for 6:00 pm.
