ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany State University men's basketball team returns to the court on Thursday, December 5th as they welcome the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern University to campus. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at the ASU West Campus Arena.
The Golden Rams enters the contest (3-6) falling 68-53 to Tuskegee University on Monday, December 2

The Golden Rams (3-6, 1-0 SIAC East) built an 22-18 lead with 6:26 remaining until halftime as the Golden Tigers began to come alive shooting 13-of-22 out of the gate. By halftime, the Tuskegee held a 34-29 advantage.
From that point the Golden Tigers controlled the lead never looking back to cruise to a 68-53 victory.
Randy McClure of the Golden Rams had 19 points as ASU shot 36.2% (17-47) from the floor and 13% (3-23) from 3-point distance while losing 10 turnovers to four Golden Tiger steals. The Golden Rams knocked down 64% (16-25) of their free throw opportunities.

Thomas drained his first six attempts from beyond the arc to help the Hurricanes build a double-digit lead early in the first half. GSW led by 10 points at the 12:30 mark and the margin was never closer than eight points the rest of the way.
The Hurricanes closed out the opening period on an 18-6 run to lead 49-29 at the break.
GSW maintained an advantage in the mid-20s for most of the second half until a 10-2 run capped by a pair of
Jamari Dean free throws with 6:04 to play pushed the margin to 31 points, the largest of the evening.
GSW turned in its best shooting night of the season to remain undefeated (5-0). The Hurricanes finished over 50 percent for the first time (51.7) and connected on a season-best 12 of 27 (44.4 percent) from 3-point range.
GSW ran up a 12-point advantage in points in the paint, 34-20, grabbed three more rebounds, 39-36, and forced the Wildcats into 22 turnovers.
The Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern University currently holds a 5-2 series advantage over the Golden Rams.
The last game was played on November 18, 2019 where GSW collected a 75-66 victory.
