ASU VOLLEYBALL RALLY FALLS SHORT AT TUSKEGEE

ASU Drops Early Season Matchup to Golden Tigers

TUSKEGEE, AL- The Albany State University volleyball team's rally came up short against Tuskegee University Tuesday night at Daniel 'Chappie' James Center.
 
After dropping the first two sets 25-23, 25-20, the Golden Rams rallied back to tie the match sweeping the next two, 25-21 and 25-20.
 
The fifth and final set went down to the wire as neither team led by more than two
points. Ultimately the Golden Tigers prevailed in their home opener, taking set five 16-14.
 
Yadira Lyons and Jannai Cheeks paced Albany State with 9 and 8 kills, respectively while Jolesia McClenton posted a game high 14 digs defensively.
 
Takeba Dowden led a strong service game for the Golden Tigers with 7 of Tuskegee's 19 aces on the evening. Dowden and Cyrani Butler each had 10 kills while Taliyana Bryant led all performers with 14 kills.
 
The Golden Rams will return to action against Fort Valley State University on Tuesday, September 11th at 6pm.
