VALDOSTA- Valdosta State University defended their home court with a three-set sweep of Albany State University Saturday afternoon in non-conference volleyball action.

The Blazers defeated the Golden Rams 25-10, 25-14, 25-5 to lift their record to 2-5 overall.

Chole Chubilleau set the high mark individually with 11 kills, the only player in the match to put up double digits. As a team Valdosta State outpaced the Golden Rams in kills, 38-17. The Blazers also displayed a strong service game, racking up 16 aces in the match.

Jannai Cheeks finished with a team high 6 kills for the Golden Rams who slip to 0-5 on the season.

The Blazers hit over 40% in two of the three sets, including an impressive 55% (11 kills vs 1 error) to close the match out.

Albany State will take the floor again on Tuesday, September 4^th in a non-conference tilt versus SIAC rival Tuskegee University. First serve is slated for 6:00pm.
