USC-AIKEN ROLLS TO THREE SET SWEEP OVER ASU

VALDOSTA- The University of South Carolina-Aiken defeated Albany State University in three sets 25-14, 25-10, 25-10 in volleyball action Friday afternoon at the Valdosta State Invitational.

Christine Carroll led all performers with 11 kills, helping the Pacers move their record to 3-1 on the season. Carroll also put forth a 4 solo block effort.

USC-Aiken's 35 kills accounted for 47 points on offense while 24 Albany State unforced errors provided enough cushion for the Pacers to close the match in three sets. The Golden Rams offense was negated as the kills equaled their errors on the afternoon. Defensively Ciara Chapman and Jolesia McClenton contributed 9 and 7 digs, respectively.

Taylor Hentz topped the Golden Rams with 6 kills and Ciara Chapman finished with 9 assists.

ASU (0-3) will return to action tonight at 5:30pm against Spring Hill College and will wrap the event tomorrow at noon versus Valdosta State.
