ASU TENNIS WRAPS PLAY AT SIAC ROUNDUP

Golden Rams Finish Weekend With a 3-4 Record

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MOBILE, AL- The Albany State University women's tennis team posted a 3-4 record at the three day SIAC Tennis Roundup held at the Mobile Tennis Center.

On day one, the Golden Rams opened the event with losses against Spring Hill 6-3 and a 9-0 shutout to Clark-Atlanta. In singles play against the Badgers Darien Davis (6-2, 6-2) and Jordan Foston (by default) won their matchups while the duo of Foston and Lindsay Ashford topped Alexandria Rayford and Jasmine Agadzi 8-4 in doubles.

On Friday, Albany State won two matches with victories over Fort Valley 6-3 and LeMoyne-Owen 9-0, before falling to Benedict 9-0. On the final day the Golden Rams split their matches sweeping Lane College 9-0 and dropping a 6-3 decision to Tuskegee University.

Individually Davis and Foston picked up singles wins against Spring Hill, LeMoyne-Owen and Lane College while those two, along with Alani Gauthier and Latoya Boyd, all notched victories in singles play versus the Wildcats.

In their only win that was not a sweep, the match against Fort Valley State, ASU was able to pull out the triumph over the Wildcats by taking two of the three doubles matchups. Foston and Lindsay Ashford defeated the FVSU pairing of Brishon Bridges and Cari Griffin 9-7 and won the third doubles by default.

On April 5^th in the Golden Rams (8-16, SIAC 7-7) will return to action in a non-conference match against Wesleyan College in Macon, GA.
