CSU COUGARS CRUISE IN 11-2 WIN OVER ALBANY STATE
February 8, 2018

ALBANY- Columbus State scored runs in each of their first three at bats in route to an 11-2 win over Albany State University Thursday afternoon at West Campus baseball field.

The Cougars were hot from the start with four hits, including a 2 RBI homer by Will Hodges to take a 3-0 lead by the close of the first. Frank Wager bookended a five run second inning with CSU's second two-run homer of the afternoon and the Cougars added two more runs in the third.

Trailing 10-0 the Golden Rams didn't get through their lineup until the middle of the third inning.

CSU's starting pitcher Kolton Ingram went five complete innings, fanning eight batters but did surrender the Rams two runs, a 2 RBI single (Chasen Roulhac/Quantico Dodson-Williams) courtesy of Riliani Familia. Overall the Golden Rams only managed five hits against the Cougar's pitching rotation, on which came off reliever Perez Knowles (Roulhac) in the bottom of the 7th.

The Cougars (3-1) responded to the Rams' two-run fifth inning in their half of the 6th when Justin Evans' ground out to short drove in Robert Brooks from third.

The Golden Rams (2-3) will return to action on Tuesday, February 13th when they welcome Valdosta State to West Campus field. Game time is scheduled for 4pm
