Golden Rams Even Record at 5-5 Overall

ALBANY- The Albany State University Golden Rams breezed past Auburn University-Montgomery 11-1 Thursday afternoon at West Campus baseball field.

The Rams, up 3-1 through four and a half, essentially put the game out of reach in their half of the fifth inning. ASU batted around their order, scoring 8 runs on only 4 hits and one Warhawk error. The Golden Rams first two runs of the fifth came off of a bases loaded walk, then Lawrence Hyde was granted a base after being hit by a pitch, scoring Tyler Morris.

A pitching change brought Alex Graulich to the mound, but didn't stop his team's collapse as the first batter he faced in Chasen Roulhac reached on a throwing error and advanced to second while two more ASU runs came in. A wild pitch and three singles later, the Rams had again loaded the bases with two outs. After another pitching change by AUM, Hyde lined out to left field to end the inning with ASU in front 11-1, what would be the game's final score.

The Warhawks, who committed three errors in the game, scored their only run when a SAC fly drove in Tanner Russell in the top of the fifth. AUM sent seven pitchers to the mound on Thursday but with the loss falls to 6-3 overall.

Roman Oliu notched the win as the starter for the Rams, moving his mark to 2-0 on the year.

ASU will return to action on Tuesday, February 27th when they host Thomas University. Game time is scheduled for 4pm.
