GOLDEN RAMS TAKE DOWN LANE

ALBANY, Ga. | Albany State played host to the Dragons of Lane College on Monday in the final game of 2018. 

Trailing by nine at the half, the Golden Rams exploded in the third quarter, outscoring the visitors 20-7 and taking a lead into the final frame.

ASU used the foul line to close out the Dragons, making 13 free throws in the second half compared to just six in the first two periods.

A balanced attack from a trio of players paced the Albany State (5-9, 4-2) offense. Alexandria James and Tyra Thompson both finished with 12 points each while Ashley Johnson added 10 points for the Golden Rams.

Uchemdirim Ibebunjo pulled down nine rebounds for ASU.

Antrice McCoy had a game-high 13 points for Lane (4-10, 3-2).

Albany State travels to St. Petersburg, Fla. for a mid-week matchup with Eckerd College on Wednesday, January 2nd. Game time is set for 5:30 pm.
