ALBANY, Ga. | Albany State kicked off day one of the SIAC-Peach Belt Challenge by hosting Georgia Southwestern State on Friday night. GSW took the matchup, 91-62.
The Golden Rams struggled from the floor, managing just 33 percent from the field and 14 percent from behind the arc while committing 28 turnovers. GSW made the most of their opportunities, finishing the night with a field goal percentage of 44% while only turning the ball over 15 times.
Alexandria James followed her career night with another strong performance for Albany State (0-4). James scored 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting. Yolanda Givens added 10 points and four rebounds for the Golden Rams.
Lex Chatman had a game-high 26 points off the bench for Georgia SW (2-1).
Day two of the SIAC-Peach Belt Challenge will pit Albany State against Columbus State on Saturday, November 17th at The Arena at West Campus. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
