ALBANY, Ga. | The Golden Rams played host to the Wolves of West Georgia on Monday night. A huge night from Alexandria James was not enough as ASU fell 77-71.
Albany State led by as many as 11 points in the first half and ended the second period with a seven point lead, but could not hold on as West Georgia stormed back to take the game.
The Wolves made the most of 16 Golden Rams' turnovers, converting those into 22 points. UWG also held the edge in points in the paint (34-28) and bench points (33-21).
James had a career night for Albany State (0-3) in the loss. The junior from Notasulga, Ala., finished the game with 41 points on 13-of-19 shooting including going 6-of-7 from behind the arc. James also chipped in nine points from the charity stripe.
A'Kia Harris led West Georgia (1-0) with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Albany State is back in action on Friday, November 16th, as they host Georgia Southwestern State at The Arena at West Campus. Tipoff is set for 7:00 pm.
