with ALBANY, Ga. | Volleyball returned to action on Tuesday night after a lengthy 17-day layoff in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael as they hosted Tuskegee in a season series rubber match.

The Golden Tigers took game one of the season when the teams played in September, but the Golden Rams defeated Tuskegee at the SIAC Crossover later that month. Albany State took the season series, defeating the visiting team 3-1 (25-19, 25-15, 21-25, 25-19).
Jannai Cheeks did not let the long layoff affect her game. She picked up right where she left off and led Albany State (7-13, 7-4) with14 kills.
Keonna Hobbs added 11 kills for the Golden Rams while
Ciara Chapman recorded 41 assists.

Takeba Dowden and Cyrani Butler paced Tuskegee (13-12, 10-5) with nine kills apiece.

Albany State hits the road on Thursday, October 25
th, as they travel to play Clark Atlanta. This will be the second meeting this season between the two schools. The Golden Rams lost 3-0 to the Lady Panthers earlier this month. Game time is scheduled for 6 pm EST.
