SECOND HALF SURGE PUSHES BADGERS PAST ALBANY STATE 76-67

ALBANY- Spring Hill College used a hot shooting second half to earn a 76-67 victory over the Albany State University Golden Rams Thursday night at West Campus Arena.
The Badgers had three starters register double figures including Gresyn Rogers who topped all scorers with 17 points. SHC improves to 3-11 overall and picks up their first win in the SIAC this season (1-5).
Tylen Walker led the Golden Rams in scoring with a 16 point effort off the bench.
After rallying to take a 37-30 lead at halftime, Spring Hill mustered a 14-5 run just after midway through the second half to take a nineteen point (72-53) advantage. The Badgers controlled the tempo with points in the paint, 36-14 for the game, and shooting at an astounding 60% clip in the second half.
The Golden Rams held the advantage in points off 17 Badger turnovers (23-3) but failed to make up ground missing several key opportunities from the free throw line. ASU finished the night 15-25 from the charity stripe, misfiring on nine attempts in the second stanza.
Albany State (1-14, SIAC 1-6) will return to the court on January 13
th against Clark-Atlanta at West Campus Arena. Game time is scheduled for 3:00pm.
