CARROLLTON, GA- West Georgia University rolled up 509 yards of total offense in route to a 48-16 win before their Homecoming crowd Saturday afternoon at Ra-Lin Field.

Wolves quarterback Willie Candler passed for 263 yards and 4 touchdowns as West Georgia moves their record to 3-1 on the season. For ASU the loss drops the Golden Rams to 2-2 on the year as they head into conference play next week sporting a 1-0 record in the SIAC.

The Wolves scored touchdowns on each of their first three possessions to seize a 21-0 advantage with 13:11 left in the second quarter. West Georgia gave the Homecoming crowd an extra thrill, and their team a 28-0 lead, when Candler converted a first and twenty Hail Mary for a 40 yard touchdown to DeNiko Carter as the first half expired.

At the intermission the Wolves had limited the Golden Rams to just 52 yards of total offense on 22 plays from scrimmage.

Even with the game out of reach the Golden Rams showed fight after a scoreless first half. After the Wolves went up 41-0 on a TD pass from Chandler to Tevin Isom, the point after attempt was blocked and returned for a defensive 2 points by Anthony Davis with 6:23 left in the third.

The Rams got their first TD of the day after a muffed punt deep in Wolves' territory was recovered by ASU. With 2:18 left in the third, Chancellor Johnson hit Chris Hunt up the middle making the score 41-9.

Kelan Fraise then broke for a 60 yard rushing score with 10:14 left in the game.
