Golden Rams ousted from SIAC tournament by LeMoyne-Owen

AUGUSTA, Ga.- The Albany State baseball team saw its season come with a loss in the loser's bracket of the 2017 SIAC Baseball Championship Tournament. ASU dropped a 10-9 decision to LeMoyne-Owen College and was eliminated from the tournament.
 
The Golden Rams finish the season with a 119-30 overall record.
 
Albany State opened the game by taking an early lead. Jonatan Galan singled to left field to score Ryan McClendon and Kelvin Wimbish. Theo Smith singled to center field that sent Galan home, and ASU led 3-0. LeMoyne-Owen scored a run in the bottom of the inning.
 
In the top of the second inning, Quantico Dodson scored to give the Golden Rams a 4-1 advantage. LOC answered in the bottom with two runs and make the score 4-3.
 
Albany State added two runs in the top of the third inning to take a 6-3 edge, but the Magicians scored three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to tie the game a six. LOC used three runs in bottom of the eighth to take a 9-6 lead.
 
ASU made a comeback in top of the ninth. Robbie Feagans scored off a throwing error, and Ben Greenstein doubled to score Dodson-Williams. Terrence Worthy later scored off an error to tie the game at nine.
 
LeMoyne-Owen scored the winning run when Taj Thompson walked with the bases loaded, which allowed Caleem Serra to score.
 
Kelvin Wimbish, Smith, Feagans and Dodson-Williams led Albany State with two hits each. Galan added two RBIs. Michael Davis was the losing pitcher.
 
Albany State collected 10 hits, four errors and 11 runners left on base.
