Lady Rams advance in SIAC tournament with win over Lane

HEPHZIBAH, Ga.- Senior short stop Malea Maye went 3-for-3 from the plate to lead the Albany State women's softball team to a 12-2 win over Lane College.

After Lane scored two runs in the top of the first inning, Albany State answered with an offensive flow. Toni Coleman singled to right field to scored Danielle Turner and Jade Williams to tie the game at 2 p.m. Briunna Murillo's double to left field sent Coleman and Malea Maye home for a 4-2 edge. Murillo later scored off Tiffany Massey's single to take a 5-2 advantage.
 
In the bottom of the second, the Lady Rams added four runs to lead 9-2 two. Three more runs in the third inning provided the team with its final 12-2 advantage.
 
Coleman finished the game with two hits and four RBIs. Murillo had two hits and three RBIS. Tiffany Massey was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts and only two hits.
 
The Lady Rams collected 13 hits, three errors and three runners left on base
