Golden Rams drop road contest to Auburn-Montgomery

Albany, Ga.- The Albany State baseball team lost its second straight game on Wednesday afternoon. ASU lost to Auburn-Montgomery 9-5 to extend its losing streak to two games.
 
The Golden Rams fall 11-22 overall after the loss. AUM improves to 19-20.
 
Albany State opened the first inning by scoring three runs. Bryant Prather hit a two-run homer, and Jeremy Arrington singled to score Ryan Sims for a 3-0 lead. Auburn-Montgomery scored three runs in the bottom to tie the game.
 
The Warhawks added a run in the bottom of the third, but ASU answered in the top of the fourth. Terrence Worthy scored when Chasen Roulhac singled up the middle to tie the score at four.
 
However, the Golden Rams could not score another run. AUM scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth to pull away.
 
Roulhac and Jeremy Arrington each had two hits for Albany State.  Bryant Prather had two RBIs. Chancellor Johnson was the losing pitcher.
 
The Golden Rams had nine hits, one error and seven runners left on base.
 
Albany State will return to action on April 14-15 when it hosts Morehouse College for a three-game SIAC series. Friday's game begins are 6 p.m., while the doubleheader on Saturday starts at 1 p.m.
