Lady Rams to compete for SIAC tournament title

ALBANY, Ga.- The Albany State women's basketball team has won five of its last six games. The team will be looking to take that momentum Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Ala. when it competes for the 2017 SIAC Women's Basketball Tournament Championship.
                    
The Lady Rams have earned the fifth seed from the SIAC East Division and will face fourth-seed SIAC West foe Kentucky State today at 2:30 p.m. The two teams played once during the regular season. The Lady Thorobreds won the Dec. 29 contest 63-61 in Frankfort, Ky.
 
The winner of the ASU-KSU matchup will face the east's top seed Benedict College. That game will take place on Wednesday, March 1 at 1 p.m.
 
In other tournament action, #4E Paine College and #5W LeMoyne-Owen will vie today at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to face #1W Central State on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
 
On Tuesday, competition will continue beginning with #3E Fort Valley State and #6W Tuskegee. Those two teams will play at 1 p.m. The winner will take on #2W Miles on Thursday, March 2 at 1 p.m.
 
In addition to the FVSU-TU contest, #3W Lane and #6E Clark Atlanta will also be in action on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The winner will play #2E Claflin on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
 
All tournament game will be played in the central time zone.
