ASU Picks Up SIAC Win in Final Home Game of 2017

Tuskegee guard Jade Wilson earned a double-double scoring 11 points and pulled down 18 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to get past Albany State Thursday evening at West Campus Arena as the Golden Rams handed the Golden Tigers their fifth straight loss, falling 62-46.
TU struggled offensively shooting only 25 percent from the field and 7 percent from three point range while also allowing ASU to score 15 points off of 18 Golden Tiger turnovers.Â
Tyra Thompson paced Albany State (6-7, 3-2) with 11 points with
Achanti Layfield adding 10 and
Kayla Green chipping in eight points and six blocked shots. Â
Two other players ended up scoring in double figures for Tuskegee (1-9, 0-3). Donshelle Daniels and Ashiala Jackson scored 12 points each. Jackson also notched six boards.
At the start of the second quarter and leading 11-9, ASU went on a quick 5-0 run to take a commanding 16-9 lead and never looked back with the Golden Rams taking a 29-16 lead into the break. In the third quarter, DeAmbria Abner made a layup in the paint narrowing TU's deficit to 29-20. However, another run put the Golden Rams back up by 15 points 37-22 at the 4:09 mark of the third period.
Albany State will return to action on December 18th on the road against Rollins College.
