FAMU DEFEATS ALBANY STATE 77-59
ASU Still Seeking First Win of the Season
TALLAHASSEE- The Florida A&M University Rattlers used an early second half run to capture their first victory of the season, 77-59 over Albany State University on Monday night at the Al Lawson Center.
The Rattlers opened the second half on a 12-3 run and never looked back as they broke into the win column after starting the season 0-4. Nasir Core and Marcus Barham poured in 14 and 12 points respectively for FAMU.
For ASU,
Jared Harrington scored 10 as the only starter in double figures and
Antoine Gresham also chipped in with 10 points off the bench.
The Golden Rams briefly held the lead at the beginning of the contest until a three pointer by Core gave the Rattlers a 7-6 advantage, and a lead that they would not relinquish. FAMU also scored 18 points off ASU's season high 21 turnovers. After trailing by only six 36-30 at the intermission, the Golden Rams were held to just 29 points in the second half.
Albany State will return to the hardwood on November 25
th as a part of an SIAC doubleheader at Central State University in Wilberforce, OH. Game time is scheduled for 3:00pm.
