CENTRAL STATE HOLDS ON FOR 72-67 WIN OVER ASU

WILBERFORCE, OH- Central State University held off Albany State University to capture a 72-67 win Saturday afternoon.
CSU's Chris Scott led all performers with 25 points (14-16 free throws) while
Tylen Walker and
Antoine Gresham had 16 and 15 points respectively for Albany State.
The Marauders used a favorable advantage from the free throw line on Saturday to edge the Golden Rams. On the strength of their free throw attempts, Central State held the lead for the entire first half. Over the first twenty minutes, CSU went 9-12 from the charity stripe while ASU took no trips to the free throw line. The Marauders held a 36-32 lead at halftime.
The Golden Rams finished the game 4-4 from the free throw line, all of which came in the second half.
Although they had the free throw deficit working against them throughout the game, the Golden Rams battled back to take the lead three times in the second half. The latter came on a dunk by
Napoleon Harris with 7:54 left in the contest to put ASU up by two, 55-53.
On the ensuing possession Jeremy Brown drained a go ahead three pointer that sparked an 11-3 run that put Central State in front for good.
The Golden Rams will hit the floor again on Monday against Kentucky State in Frankfurt, KY. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
