VOLLEYBALL WRAPS REGULAR SEASON WITH FOUR SET WIN AT TUSKEGEE
Lady Rams Finish SIAC Slate at Second in the Eastern Division

TUSKEGEE, AL-The Albany State University volleyball team won a four set decision over Tuskegee University, Thursday night at the Daniel James Center.
With the win the Lady Golden Rams wrap up the 2017 regular season and have unofficially solidified the number two seed headed into next week's SIAC Volleyball Tournament in Birmingham.
Thursday night's matchup with the Golden Tigers was the third win over Tuskegee in as meetings this season. The first two matches counted towards ASU's conference record, so now the Lady Golden Rams sport an overall mark of 16-10 and 14-4 in league play.
After dropping the first set 25-22, the Lady Golden Rams swept the final three sets 25-12, 25-20 and 25-14. Using a balanced attack on offense and defense, ASU got 7 kills from
Chelona Holmes and 6 kills from
Justice Howard in route to the win. Albany State also recorded one solo and 8 assisted blocks for a total of 5.0 team blocks.
Although they started out fast to snatch set one, the Golden Tigers all but collapsed offensively in set two. Tuskegee misfired on many of their attacks, racking up 11 errors against only 4 kills and the Lady Rams took set two in convincing fashion 25-12.
The Golden Tigers also hit a negative percentage in the third set and drew even with 7 kills vs 7 errors in the fourth and deciding set.
The Lady Golden Rams will take the court again on Wednesday November 15th at the 2017 SIAC Volleyball tournament. Game times and matchups are yet to be announced. Be sure to visit
