Lady Golden Rams Fall in Tough Non-Conference Tilt

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA- Georgia College and State University defeated Albany State University in straight sets Friday evening at the Centennial Center.

The Bobcats, led by Taylor Svehla, swept the Lady Golden Rams 25-16, 25-14, 25-14. Svehla finished the game with 12 kills versus no hitting errors as the Bobcats improve to 8-3 on the season.

As a team GCS totaled 43 kills against 11 errors and defensively kept the Lady Golden Rams' attack game at bay with 52 digs and 6 assisted blocks. Albany State offense was held to single digits in each set while the Bobcats racked up 14, 16 and 13, respectively.
The Bobcat's return game was equally solid as ASU was held without a service ace for the first time this season. Jannai Cheeks fished with a team high 8 kills and Jalesia McClenton put up 16 digs in a losing effort.

Kayla Brockway accounted for 3 of GCS's 9 service aces on the evening.
