HOWARD TALLIES SEASON HIGH IN WIN OVER CLARK-ATLANTA

ALBANY, GA- Justice Howard registered a season high 20 kills as Albany State University downed Clark-Atlanta University in four sets of volleyball action Monday night at HPER Gymnasium.
Chelona Holmes chipped in with 16 kills and Jahkishma Soto put up a stat line with 46 assists, 4 aces, 10 digs and a solo block.

Kia Thomas and Ashley Elmore led the way for the Lady Panthers (6-10, SIAC 6-3) with 19 and 14 kills respectively.

After taking the first two sets 25-18 and 25-21, the Lady Golden Rams led 20-12 in the third and appeared poised to take the game straight sets. However CAU had other plans rallying from behind by outscoring ASU 13-3 to take the third 25-23. Over that stretch the Lady Golden Rams committed four crucial hitting errors and Clark's Taylor Prude served 7 consecutive points to send the match to a fourth set.

The two teams went back and forth in the fourth set but the Lady Golden Rams were more efficient offensively with 15 kills to close out the match 25-22.

ASU killed some of their own momentum in the match with unforced errors, most significantly in the service game with 11 service errors, their second highest total this season.
