Game Day RAM-blings- Albany State vs. Tuskegee

ALBANY, Ga.- The Albany State Golden Rams and Tuskegee Golden Tigers are set to meet in the 3rd Annual White Water Classic in Phenix City Ala. at Garrett Harrison Stadium. This will be the 44th meeting all-time between Albany State and Tuskegee, with the Golden Tigers holding a 23-19-1 advantage in the series. The two have meet nine times since 2006, with Tuskegee holding a 8-1 advantage. Last season, TU won the only meeting 27-14 in the 3rd Annual White Water Classic.

ASU opened its season on Sept. 3 against Valdosta State University, losing 16-7. Senior quarterback Caleb Edmonds rushed 18 times for 156 yards and a touchdown and completed 15-of-30 passes for 157 yards. Junior wide receiver Ta'Keevian Harris recorded eight receptions for 74 yards, while sophomore Michael Green, Jr. had four receptions and 39 yards.

On defense, junior safety Nick Scott led the team with four tackles and two pass breakups. Senior defensive lineman Monte Taylor, and senior linebacker Zavondric Shingleton added four tackles apiece. All-SIAC defensive lineman Grover Stewart recorded three tackles and two sacks.

Tuskegee opened its season with a 36-13 victory over Clark Atlanta University on Sept. 3. Quarterback Kevin Lacey led the Golden Tigers with 179 yards passing, pacing an offense that totaled 405 yards in the win. Wide receiver Jamarcus Ezell came off the bench to finish with 93 yards and a touchdown through the air. Running back Jayjerien Craig led the rushing game with 61 yards on eight carries, and Kenny Gant finished with 53 yards on 10 carries.

Defensively, Osband Thompson led the Golden Tigers defensively with 16 tackles, including eight solo and three tackles for loss. Tuskegee was able to force two sacks and 10 tackles for loss, while having four different players with interceptions on the night.
