Golden Ram Baseball loses to Georgia College

ALBANY, Ga.- Theodore Smith recorded a team-high three hits, but Albany State was unable to extend its winning streak to three games. ASU was defeated by Georgia College by a 7-0 score. The loss gives the Golden Rams a 9-27 overall record.
 
Georgia College improves to 19-13.
 
For four innings, the two teams played on even terms. The game remained scoreless before the Bobcats managed to score five runs between the fifth and sixth innings to take a 5-0 lead.
 
Georgia College added two more runs in the top of the eighth for a 7-0 advantage. ASU got enough hits, but it could not generate enough offense to make a solid rally.
 
Isaac Wilkerson added two hits for the Golden Rams, who collected eight hits as a team. Tyler Wilcher was the losing pitcher.
 
Albany State will return to action on Wednesday, April 6 when it hosts Columbus State University at Golden Ram Park. Game time is slated 4 p.m.
