Lady Ram Softball drops a pair to Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla.- The Albany State women's softball team failed in its attempt to snap their losing streak. The Lady Rams lost a pair of games to Rollins College by the scores of 4-0 and 21-1. With the losses, ASU now owns an overall record of 10-24 and has lost eight straight games.
 
Rollins improves to 23-6-1.

Although the Lady Rams collected seven hits for the game, they had trouble pushing runs across home plate. After falling behind 4-0 after the first three innings, Albany State left seven batters stranded, which halted any potential comeback.
 
Ambrionna Atkism and Candace Blair led the team with two hits apiece. Atkism (4-7) was also the losing pitcher.
 
Rollins 21, Albany State 1
 
ASU could not get any offense going in the second game, but Rollins did not have any difficulty. The Lady Tars took a 5-0 edge after the first inning. They scored nine runs in the second inning and added seven in the third to take a commanding lead.
 
The Lady Rams' lone run materialized when Toni Coleman hit a single to score Keyanna Dawson in the top of the fourth inning.
 
Tiffany Massey (4-12) was the losing pitcher for Albany State.
 
Albany State will return to action on Friday, Mar. 25 when it travels to Dayton Beach to face Embry Riddle University in a doubleheader. Game times are set for 5 and 7 p.m.
