ALBANY, Ga.- The Albany State women's softball team made late rallies in both games, but it could not finish. The Lady Rams lost two games to Brewton Parker College by 3-2 (Game 1) and 7-3 scores.
With the losses, ASU falls to 1-5 on the season. The Barons improve to 7-4.

Brewton Parker 3, Albany State 2
After Malea Maye scored ASU's first run in the bottom of the first inning, the team held Brewton Parker scoreless until the final inning. The Lady Rams committed a couple of errors and allowed the Barons to score three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 3-1 edge. Albany State attempted a comeback in the bottom of the stanza. Danetra Jackson had a sacrifice to score Jadae Taylor, but that was as close as the Lady Rams could get. Taylor and Brishanti Weaver led Albany State with two hits apiece. The team collected six hits and committed four errors. Tiffany Massey (0-3) took the mound loss. Â
Brewton Parker 7, Albany State 3
In the second game, the Barons used the first five innings to generate a 7-0 lead. Albany State added two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 7-2.
The Lady Rams were able to add another run in the last inning, but it was not enough to overcome the large deficit.
Albany State will be at home once again on Wednesday, Feb. 17 when it hosts Valdosta State University. Game times are scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.
