Golden Rams can’t tame Georgia College Bobcats

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- Bryant Prather recorded two hits and an RBI, but Albany State could not contain the Georgia College Bobcats. In the final game of a three-game series, ASU dropped a 19-3 decision and fell to 0-9 on the season.
 
Georgia College, who won the Peach Belt conference tournament last season, improves to 3-3.
 
Albany State scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning. That occurred when Prather hit a single to left field to score Herron Gardner. Georgia College answered with two runs in the bottom of the stanza.
 
The Bobcats built a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning, but it was the fifth where they blew the game open. GC scored 10 runs at that point to take a commanding 13-1 advantage.
 
ASU did scored two more runs in the top of the eighth. However, Georgia College generated six more runs in the same inning to account for the final tally.
 
The Golden Rams only collected three total hits and committed two errors.  Cullen Coulter took the mound loss.
 
Albany State will return home on Tuesday, Feb. 16 when it hosts Shorter University at Golden Ram Park. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
