Lady Rams Volleyball falls to Tuskegee

TUSKEGEE, Ala.- Justice Howard recorded a game-high 13 kills and five digs, but the Albany State women's volleyball could not capitalize on her totals. ASU dropped a 3-1 decision to Tuskegee University in a non-conference matchup.
 
With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 13-13 overall and see their three-match winning streak come to an end. Tuskegee improves to 11-15.
 
Albany State appeared to be on its way to its fourth straight victory when it bolted to a 25-21 win in the first set. However, the Tigerettes began their rally in Game 2. ASU eventually lost the next three games 19-25, 24-26 and 22-25.
 
Brittianni Phillips had seven kills and five assists, and Maria Sanchez added six kills and five block assists. Setter Jahkishma Soto tallied 17 assists and 11 digs. Chelona Holmes recorded 10 digs.
 
Tuskegee had three players to reach double digits in kills in Taliyana Bryant (11), Shakayla Wilson (10) and Jessica Johnson (10). Janay Graham had 44 assists, and Zahria Radford added 24 digs.
 
Albany State will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 6 when it hosts Claflin University. Claflin won the initial meeting 3-2 on Oct. 3. The Lady Rams will have Senior Day during the match. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
