ALBANY, Ga.- Brittianni Phillips recorded eight kills and two blocks, but the Albany State women's volleyball team was unable to gain victory on Senior Day. ASU dropped a 3-0 (16-25, 22-25, and 23-25) decision to Claflin University, the team it lost to 3-2 on Oct. 3 in Orangeburg, S.C.

With the loss, the Lady Rams fall to 13-14 overall and 10-6 in the SIAC. Claflin improves to 15-15, 13-3.

Chelona Holmes and Keonna Hobbs each tallied five kills for the Lady Rams. Holmes also led the team with six digs. Setter Jahkishma Soto recorded 21 assists.

The Lady Panthers were led by Ashleigh Green and Bria Bronston, who had 10 and nine kills, respectively. Setter Sonia Rosales had 29 assists, and Jhi Piper-Murles added 12 digs.

Albany State will close its regular season schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 9 when it travels to Atlanta, Ga. to face the Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers. CAU won the initial meeting 3-0 on Oct. 5. Match time is set for 6 p.m.
