Lady Rams gain first win of the season against archrival FVSU

FORT VALLEY, Ga.- Jahkishma Soto recorded 13 kills and three digs to lead the Albany State Lady Rams to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-23 & 25-15) victory over archrival Fort Valley State University. With the win, ASU picks up its first win of the season and improves to 1-7 overall and 1-1 in the SIAC. The Lady Wildcats fall to 0-3, 0-2.
 
Freshmen Miya Jenkins and Keonna Hobbs added nine and six kills, respectively. Senior setter Tiffany Roesler had 37 assists, and Kaliah Carter led the team defensively with a team-high 10 digs.
 
Raven Conner led the Lady Wildcats with five kills and 12 digs.
 
The Lady Rams return to action on Thursday, Sept. 24 when they compete in the 2015 SIAC Crossover Tournament. The three-day affair will be hosted by ASU and will end on Saturday afternoon. Albany State is scheduled for eight games and will open the event against new SIAC member Central State University. The first serve is scheduled for 8 a.m.
