Lady Rams fall to Rollins twice; drops sixth straight

Winter Park, Florida- The Albany State Lady Rams were unable to snap their losing streak against the Rollins College Lady Tars. The Lady Rams dropped two road contests by the scores of 6-1 and 9-1. With the pair of losses, ASU loses its sixth straight game and falls to 9-15 overall. Rollins improves to 28-4.
                     
Game 1: Rollins 6, Albany State 1
 
Albany State scored its only run in the top of the first inning. Ambrionna Atkism recorded a sacrifice bunt to score Malea Maye. Rollins answered with a single run in the second, third and fifth innings. The Lady Tars cushioned their lead with three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
 
Tiffany Massey led the Lady Rams with two hits.  The team only recorded three hits total and committed three errors. Alexa Lopez was the losing pitcher.
 
 
Game 2: Rollins 9, Albany State 1
 
The Lady Rams still struggled to find offense in the second contest.  While Rollins scored two runs apiece in the second and fourth innings and five in the third, Albany State scored its only run in the fifth inning. The game was called due to the eight run-five inning rule.
 
Maye had two hits, and Massey took the mound loss. ASU collected four hits and committed three errors.
 
Albany State will return home March 28-29 when it hosts SIAC opponent Clark Atlanta University in a three game series. The two teams will play a Saturday doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday's single game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
